Job description :

Our client, a major player in the Montreal tourism industry, is dedicated to promoting and developing tourism in the Quebec metropolis. They are looking for a Meetings and Conventions Sales Coordinator.  
Under the supervision of the CRM and Data Manager, you will work with and assist the sales team 
team by coordinating the actions of the business sales and sports market and the needs of members and partners. Projects may be carried out entirely by an in-house team, or may be carried out by external suppliers requiring rigorous follow-up.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the sales team 
  • (e-mails, letters and various documents, dispatch of documents, filing, etc.);
  • Prepare, revise and complete sales-related documents with care and accuracyaccuracy;
  • Support sales managers in organizing their sales activities and follow-upand follow-up;
  • Identify customer needs, respond to them personally wherever possible or forward the request to his/her managers or to the department responsible;
  • Follow up managers' files in their absence;
  • Transmit required information to customers and members;
  • Share relevant information with the departments concerned;
  • Enter new customer and partner accounts into the database, prepare business  database, prepare business opportunities and standard documents required by  managers;
  • Update all information received from hotels and customers (room blocks, rates, history, etc.), merge standard documents, prepare business opportunities and tender  bid/application within the timeframe required by the customer;
  • Ensure adequate knowledge of the services offered and the particular characteristics of our participating in member invitations when required;
  • Maintain up-to-date files and database;
  • Provide support to co-ordinator colleagues when required.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in an appropriate discipline;
  • At least two years' experience related to this position;
  • Excellent knowledge of the hotel or convention industry, an asset;
  • Good command of spoken and written French and English, as the clientele served is mainly and Canadian clientele;
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of CRM systems an asset;
  • Good management of priorities;
  • Good resistance to stress and working under pressure;
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail;
  • Good sense of organization and initiative;
  • Professionalism and courtesy, customer service skills, positive attitude and team spirit. team spirit.
